EPN247 - Changes to Section 12 of the Employers Pension Guide

Audience: Policy managers and HR staff involved in business transfers or machinery of government moves involving compulsory transfers of staff

Note the changes to the electronic version of the EPG on the CSP website. (If you hold a hard copy of the EPG, destroy the existing section 12 and replace by printing off the new version from the website.)

Timing: Immediate

1. This EPN updates employer guidance on the pension implications of compulsorily transferring staff both into and out of the Civil Service. The attached pages replace chapter 12 of the Employers’ Pension Guide. This EPN replaces the guidance in EPN96.
2. The new guidance makes clear that you are responsible for ensuring that the pensions aspect of the transfer fully comply with the various requirements, and that you handle them promptly.
