The Charity for Civil Servants is here to help and support civil servants – current, former and retired – with whatever life brings. Right now civil servants are facing more challenges than ever before. From money woes to health worries, relationship issues, to bereavement or money matters. The Charity can offer support and advice to help whenever life gets tough. 

Most importantly, the Charity is independent of the Civil Service and is not a membership organisation. You don’t need to have been a donor to benefit from their support and their services are completely confidential.

We are here to make sure you get the best from your retirement. We have been campaigning on behalf of pensioners in the UK for over 60 years. We also provide a whole host of member services and benefits designed to meet the needs of pensioners, from special deals on travel insurance to a computer helpline.

CSPA was formed nearly 70 years ago and has achieved remarkable success in securing indexation for Civil Service Pensions. We continue to work hard on behalf of our members. We meet regularly with Cabinet Office to protect the value of civil service pensions, provide excellent membership services and great value for money. We want a better later life for everyone! With our 50,000 members and local groups, we are a powerful, independent voice for retired civil servants and older people. Join us today!

We are an independent, non-party political organisation with an elected Executive Council. Our income comes from members’ subscriptions and we receive no financial help from outside bodies. This leaves us free to pursue the policies that are best for our members. With over 50,000 members and local groups throughout England and Wales and separate branches in Malta, Northern Ireland and Scotland we are a powerful voice for pensioners. Members directly feed into our policy agenda through our annual general meeting.

The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship

The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship is a national charity dedicated to helping former civil servants and their dependents make the most of their retirement.

Friendship and support remain at the forefront of our work today. We provide a range of services that include two national befriending schemes to help combat loneliness in later life, local community groups (providing educational speakers and leisure activities) and we are on hand to offer information, advice and signposting to a wide range of other supportive organisations, easily accessible via our freephone telephone advice line.

The CSRF will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025. To mark this Diamond event, they’d like to engage a new cohort of supporters as members of their community and have a special 60% discount open to all first time subscribers for their first year annual subscription. The offer will run until the end of 2025.

We aim to be the insurance provider of choice for Civil and Public Servants by offering quality products at competitive prices with exceptional customer service.

The big difference about taking out an insurance policy with CSIS is that all profit goes to charity, providing a real benefit to people from the public services who are facing hardship.

Each year we donate our profits to the independent CSIS Charity Fund which in turn distributes them via grants to charities helping active, retired and former civil and public servants.

It is what CSIS and the CSIS Charity Fund have been doing successfully for years. In the last decade alone some £8million has helped put people’s lives back on track. People such as Lou, the partner of a postman who had a severe aneurism; Andy, a civil servant who suffered a spinal cord injury and was medically retired; Tara, a young teacher with children who was made homeless before Christmas; Mrs J, a widow of a policy holder whose small pension does not cover her needs. The list goes on.
