Civil Service Pension Scheme Task Force Update This is a new service - your feedback will help us to improve it. If this is your first time accessing the member portal since 25 November, you will need to create a new account. Once you have completed the registration process, please wait 15 minutes before logging in to ensure your account has been fully activated. Thank you for your patience. If you applied for retirement before 1 December 2025 but have told us that your retirement date is effective after 1 December 2025, we will be writing to you in the coming days with further information about the next steps in receiving your quote. Read more. The Member Portal will be unavailable on Monday 11th May 2026, from 6:15pm to 7:45pm, while we carry out planned maintenance. You will not be able to log in, register, or use online services during this time. This will not affect your information or any previous activity. Please try again after this time.

Change of bank details for pension payments

This information applies only if you are currently receiving a pension from the scheme.

How to change your bank details

For security reasons, we cannot accept bank details sent by email, telephone or portal message.

You can update your bank details in one of the following ways:

  • Complete and return the Change of details form, or

  • Send a written request by post if you are unable to print the form.

Only posted documents can be accepted.

Getting the form

You can download the Change of Details form from the Civil Service Pensions website:

https://www.civilservicepensionscheme.org.uk/change-of-details-pensioner-form/

Finding the form from the homepage

Menu (top right) > Knowledge Centre > Member forms

Once you are on the Member forms page, scroll to the Pensioner forms section at the bottom and select the relevant form.

Where to send your documents

Please post completed forms and any supporting documents to:

Civil Service Pensions

Capita Pensions Solutions

PO Box 713

Darlington

DL1 9JZ

What happens next

Your pension will continue to be paid into your existing bank account until we receive:

  • Full details of your new bank account (account name, account number and sort code), and

  • Supporting evidence confirming your details as requested on the form.

You must provide a bank statement or other official document that shows your name, address and updated bank details. This document must be dated within the last three months

If continuing payments to your existing account would cause you difficulty, you can request that your pension payments are temporarily suspended until the new bank details are processed.

Once your bank details have been updated, we will send you a confirmation letter.

Overseas bank accounts

If your new bank account is overseas, please contact us to request an Overseas Bank Details form. This form is not currently available on the website.

As part of this process, you will need to provide:

  • A certified copy of your passport or photocard driving licence, and

  • A document from you bank confirming the new account details.

Further guidance will be included with the form we send to you.

If a payment has already been issued

Once a payment has been issued, we cannot redirect it.

If your previous bank account has been closed, the bank will usually return the payment to us automatically.

Once we receive the returned payment, it will be reissued to your updated bank account.

Joint accounts

We can pay your pension into a joint account, provided you are named on the account.

Important

Bank switching services do not update your details with Civil Service Pensions. You must notify the scheme directly if your bank details change.
