Pension Awareness Week 2025

We invited participants to join us for five days of expert-led webinars, which were designed to help them understand and get more from their pension. Whether they were new to the Scheme, planning, or approaching retirement, there was something for everyone.

Each session covered a key pensions milestone and included practical guidance, live Q&As, polls, and helpful resources.

During the week, here is what we covered:

Retirement

During our retirement session, we covered the different types of retirement, the application process, and what to expect.

Members also learnt ways to boost their pension and the support that was available to them as they approached retirement.

The 2015 Remedy

Members learnt about their retirement choices, how their Remedy data appeared in their Annual Benefit Statement, and how to use the updated Retirement Modeller.

The Remediable Service Statement solution was also explained.

New Joiners (all about alpha)

We explained how the alpha scheme worked, what career average meant, how benefits build up and why your pension is important.

Members also discovered how to use the Pension Portal to manage their pension online, the difference between Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes and how to make informed choices if members were thinking of transferring in another pension.

Civil Service Compensation Scheme

This session offered a clear, practical overview of the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (CSCS). Whether members were affected by an Early Exit or just wanted to understand their options for the future, we guided them through the essentials.

We discussed who the Scheme applied to, how compensation payments were calculated and what leaving the Civil Service before pension age could mean for your retirement.

Changes to the Civil Service Pensions Portal

From 1 December 2025, the Civil Service Pensions Portal changed. The updated portal featured a new look, enhanced modeller functions and benefits designed to better meet members’ needs and improve their experience.

In this session, we shared more information, demonstrated what changed and used members’ feedback to help shape future improvements.
