Annual Benefit Statement (ABS)
What is an Annual Benefit Statement?
Your Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) provides an estimate of the pension benefits you’ve built up to 31 March of the relevant Scheme year.
It’s designed to help you understand your current position and support you to plan for your future.
Your ABS isn’t a formal retirement quotation, so you should always request a formal quote when you’re getting ready to retire.
What will my 2024/25 ABS show?
Your statement shows an estimate of your pension benefits up to 31 March 2025, based on pay and service information provided by your employer, along with any applicable HM Treasury adjustments
How can I access my 2024/25 ABS?
You can view or download your ABS by signing into the member portal.
How do I register for the member portal?
You can register for an online account by following the registration process guidance.
My ABS is missing - what should I do?
If your ABS is not showing in the member portal, please contact us through your online account.
I didn’t receive an ABS last year, will I get one now?
A small number of members with complex records didn’t receive an ABS last year under the previous administrator’s process. These members won’t receive a 2024/25 ABS as part of the current release.
I’m affected by the 2015 Remedy and received two statements last year. Will I receive both again?
Yes. If you’re affected by the 2015 Remedy and previously received both an ABS and Alternative Scheme Option (ASO) statement, you’ll be able to view and download both documents through the the member portal.
Why does the ABS look different?
The 2024/25 ABS and ASO documents are simplified reproductions of last year's statements. Your pension data hasn’t changed, and this doesn’t affect your pension benefits.
Why are my address or death benefit nomination(s) missing?
The 2024/25 ABS and ASO (if you’re affected by the 2015 Remedy) templates are simplified versions of previous statements, so some personal information is not displayed.
Your address and death benefit nomination details haven’t been lost and will be included in future statement templates from 2025/26 onwards
What should I do if my figures are different from the 2024/25 ABS issued previously?
If the pension figures shown are different from the statement previously issued by the former administrator, please get in touch with us through the member portal.
What should I do if my personal details don’t look right?
If your personal details are showing incorrectly, please contact your employer, HR team or shared service provider so they can update your records.
I’ve never checked my ABS before. How do I know if it’s right?
You should check:
- your Civil Service employment start date
- the date you joined the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
- your pensionable salary information for 2024/25
Can I request a paper copy of my ABS?
We encourage you to access your ABS through the member portal where copies can be viewed and downloaded.
If you have specific accessibility requirements and are unable to access your statement online, please contact us to discuss the support available
Will previous historical ABS documents be made available?
