Quotes Hub FAQs - Timescales and payments

I submitted my quotation request weeks ago - when will I receive it?

We expect all overdue quotes to be issued by the end of June. While we work through the backlog, we cannot escalate individual cases. If you are experiencing financial hardship because of the delay, please see the Further help and support.

I returned my forms from my quote pack a while ago and have not had an acknowledgement  what should I do?

Once your forms have been processed, you will receive a finalisation letter confirming your pension has been put into payment. It can take four to five weeks to process your forms.

How can I track progress on my quote?

The Track My Case function on the online member portal does not show live progress or where you are in queue.
If you have waited five weeks after submitting your quote and haven’t received your finalisation letter you can contact us using the secure mailbox in your online account.

How long will it take to get pension payments after I return my paperwork?

Timescales can vary, especially when volumes are high, but as a guide:

  • Your pension should be finalised within four to five weeks of receiving your completed forms

  • Your first pension payment is usually made around four weeks after finalisation

If you are eligible for a lump sum, it is usually paid by BACS within seven days of your finalisation letter.
Payments go to the bank account advised on your Bank Mandate Form. If your bank details change, tell the Civil Service Pension Scheme as soon as possible.

When will I receive my first pension payment?

Once you have returned your completed paperwork and your pension is finalised, your first pension payment will be made within four to five weeks. Payments are made monthly in arrears, aligned to your retirement date.

Will I receive arrears and interest if my pension is late?

Yes. If your pension has been delayed, you will receive arrears back to your retirement date.
Interest on late payments may be applied after your benefits have been put into payment.

When will I receive my lump sum (if I am eligible)?

Your lump sum will be paid into your bank account by BACS within seven days of receiving your finalisation letter.

I received a lump sum but have not received a breakdown - what should I expect?

You should receive a letter confirming the breakdown within seven working days of your lump sum being paid.
If the amount looks very different from what you were expecting, or you have not received the breakdown, please contact using the secure mailbox in your online account. See how to create an online account: Registration Process

Has the April deadline for clearing retirement arrears been met?

We did not complete all outstanding retirement cases by the end of April as planned, and we are sorry for that. All members due a retirement payment will receive a payment during May 2026. For some members this may be later in the month than expected, but no eligible member will go unpaid. From June 2026, payments will align to each member's normal retirement payment date.

How will I know when my overdue payment has been processed?

You will receive your payment directly into your preferred bank account. In some cases, we may contact you if we need further information before making a payment.
