She served nine years as an Assistant Purser with P&O cruise ships and then spent 30 years with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, including postings as a Personal Assistant in several countries during politically turbulent times.

Now, 20 years into retirement, Gillian is a published author and Registrar of Marriages. She shares her reflections and advice for those nearing retirement.
