Detail:
Pension Awareness Week aims to help employees understand their Civil Service pension and make informed decisions about their financial future.
During PAW, we’ll be hosting a series of live online sessions via Microsoft Teams Town Hall, including presentations and Q&A with Civil Service Pensions experts and partner organisations.
Webinars will be: - Hosted by Civil Service Pensions experts - Interactive, with live Q&A so you can get answers to your top questions - Available on demand after the event
About this year’s webinars.
Day 1 – Retirement Date: Monday 15 September About: Learn about the different types of retirement, the application process, and what to expect. The session will also cover how to boost your pension before retirement, track down unclaimed pensions, and explore support options available to pensioners.
Day 2 – 2015 Remedy (McCloud) Date: Tuesday 16 September About: Understand how the Remedy affects you, your retirement choices, and how to interpret your Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) and Remediable Service Statement (RSS).
Day 3 – New Joiners Date: Wednesday 17 September About: New to the scheme? This session explains your pension benefits, your options after joining, how to register for the Pension Portal, and ways to boost your benefits.
Day 4 – About the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (CSCS) Date: Thursday 18 September About: If you're going through or expecting an Early Exit exercise from the Civil Service, this session explains how the CSCS works, who it applies to, and what to expect when leaving the scheme before retirement age.
Day 5 – Upcoming Changes to the Pension Portal Date: Friday 19 September About: From 1 December 2025, the Civil Service Pensions Portal will be updated with a new look, improved modeller features, and enhancements designed to better meet members’ needs. This session will share more information, show what’s changing, and gather feedback to help shape future improvements.

Each session has a maximum capacity of 10,000
Members are encouraged to book only one session per day to ensure others can attend.
Members who have pre-registered for this event, or attended a previous Pension Awareness event, will receive an email from Civil Service Pensions via GOV.UK containing a link to the PAW 2025 registration page.
After booking a webinar individuals will receive a confirmation email via GOV.NOTIFY. - This email will contain a link to download a calendar invite for their chosen session (as an .ICS file).
To add the event to their calendar, members should download and double-click the file. This will automatically open in their email client (e.g., Gmail, Outlook) and save to their calendar. - Members are advised to check their junk folder as GOV.NOTIFY emails can sometimes be marked as spam.
