From 1 October 2013, (mainly private sector) employers are admitted into the Civil Service pension arrangements, under Section 1(4A) of the Superannuation Act 1972 (as amended), where they are carrying out work formerly done within Government. Scheme membership is restricted to existing members whose employment has transferred into the private sector employer.
